Happy Monday fashion beauties! I hope you all have had a fun-filled weekend...I know, I know…the weekend comes and goes entirely too fast, but for what it’s worth, springtime is rapidly approaching – that is, if we can get past this bipolar weather! It’s been a minute since my last blog post and if you follow me on Instagram @blackandwhite_xpressions, then you’ll notice that my Instagram page is in total “REVAMP MODE!” Since my last post, I have decided to go in the direction of black and white fashion looks, with a pop of color. The color black and I have a love-hate relationship and if you were to see my closet, then you will know why! Black and white are two combinations of colors that will probably never go out of style, and I’m totally here for it!
This weekend unfortunately wasn’t as warm as it has been, but I had the pleasure of shooting this look, again with the oh so, talented photographer, Nour Dabbagh of @_perfectmoments photography. This look has sort of a modern day “seventies” vibe, which I am absolutely in love with. These embroidered flare pants are to die for and were purchased from Versona for ONLY $9.99 – original price, $39.99 (see here) now that’s a cute deal that I couldn’t pass up. Looking back, there was a time succeeding the seventies era that these pants were likely to be considered “high waters;” thus, as we all know, “high waters” were considered to be of the devil – people at one time or another were shunned for wearing “high water” pants – okay, maybe a little dramatic, but you get the gist! At any rate, this particular style of pant is gradually making a comeback in today’s fashion, which we are also seeing in the skinny ankle jean and the skinny ankle dress pant, and I am AGAIN, totally here for it! This pant can be paired with just about any style top/blouse and can easily be transitioned from a casual day-to-day look, to a date night look with a black lace bralette and a black blazer that hits at the top of your waste, or just a little bit past, and buttoned in the middle. However, I personally decided to go with this lace inset surplice top, which was originally $39.99, but guess what!? I purchased it for ONLY $10.99 (see here).
