The Journalist/Photojournalist!
Amanda D.
My name is Amanda Smith, and I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I received my undergrad degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology from Barton College and earned a paralegal certificate from Meredith College in Wake County, North Carolina.
After graduating from college in 2012, I landed my first professional job at the Wake County courthouse, located in downtown Raleigh. After being employed there for three years as a deputy/courtroom clerk, assisting judges, assistant district attorneys, and defense attorneys, I accepted another job opportunity as a Civil Litigation Paralegal at a small law firm. Since then however, I have transitioned to another law firm, now working as a Legal Assistant. Thus, although my professional career has primarily been in the legal field, I am currently enrolled at Full Sail University, earning a Master’s Degree in New Media Journalism
As an only child, I was forced to find ways to keep myself entertained and I did so by becoming a personal stylist to my barbie dolls - dressing each one in different clothes, shoes, and accessories. This sense of creativity has stuck with me well into my adult years; hence, my passion for fashion. I am also an aspiring actress who is passionate about writing and photography.
My goal for this site is to create and promote lasting stories through images that I have captured with a keen eye. I specialize primarily in street photography devoted to capturing life’s moments and events as they unfold as well as fashion photography devoted to capturing fashion trends that are stylish, fun, unique, modernistic, and much more. I believe that fashion is all about taking risks and creating a look that works best for you - finding ways to wear the same piece of garment, and exuding style without feeling like you have to wear designer labels.
